making a ship with cloning and welding

This is the ship I made in class and I started with a box and then extruded a wing out of one side then I deleted a side of the boxed and copied it then I chose instance and mirrored it I then changed the wing to how I liked it then I started to extrude and bevel some parts of the ship then brought it closer and attached the two parts to make it one and then I used the bend and taper tools to give more of a rounder shape.

I think that the design is ok however I also think that if I had more time I may have been able to put more detail on to the guns so they are just extruded polygons  I like the texture I put on to the ship as well.

Evaluation of desktop design

In this project I have drawn, taken photos and used photoshop to make a desktop design.

I made the design by first making  the layers that I needed and then I name the layers to what I was going to use it for. After I got the Shipley college logo and placed it in the right layer and where I thought it was ok then I selected a different layer and painted a line. I then drew the people on photoshop and added a different texture to the image and a outer glow. I the added a backgroung image and put it at the back where everything was in front of it  and then added the water paint brushes and smudged & blured the background.

The end product does not match the original design as I have change the background to make it more of my own and I have added more people that were made in photoshop to my design.

I think that the end product is suitable for my target audience because my target audience is mainly people that work with the computers on the media suite a lot and older people and some of the younger people through out the design process I changed how many people were there and the way they where placed..

I have used the paint tool and changed the type of paint brush to a water type to make it look like the spiral is letting water out and spreading it around the design. I have also used the smudge tool to spred spiral a bit more and make the colour mix a bit more as it did not look good when it was sharp I have also used the blur tool to blur the middle of the spiral to make it less sharp. I have also used the textures to make some of the people look more interesting I have also use bevel and emboss to make some of the images more 3D and I have also used inner shadow to make the words a different colour.

The style of my design is in the graphic art style as most of the things made in photoshop are based on graphic art.    

I did find one problem which stopped me from adding the selected fonts to the font list so I typed what I wanted to use the font and then copy & pasted is to photoshop and changed it from there because of this problem I was not able to do what I wanted with the text. I have now learned how to use photoshop more effectively and how to put more detail into my work. I just manged to finish the project in time with the deadline and I did not have any problems with time mangment.

If I could make the product again I would make the people I created more real.

Camera Animation experiment

With this animation I used all of the skills I have learned to make a simple background and  I found out how to animate a camera so that the animation is shown through the camera but I would have to practice with it a bit more as the camera is too close to a bit of the scenery and I could not change it because I had finished the animation and had only discovered how to look through the camera at the end of the animation so I could not change it by then.

I like this animation as I was just experimenting with cameras and I think that the animation is ok for a first attempt with using cameras.

my own animation

I made a animation in 3d max but it did not save to my meory stick or the  college  meoray nut I animatied a ball bouncing and landing on a roof then roling to a 3D dimond and get's pushed back to the other side of the roof then gets shoved off and starts rolling to a box  and jumps over it  and then falls in to a tube.

I like this animation because it looked really smooth when I played it for the rest of the class to watch. 

Learning how to make 3d text and how to put a texture on it

Today we learned how to place text in to 3d max and how to make the text 3d

This is  my first go at using 3D max with text I used Bolton Titling for My name and used the texture planet to make this effect and I have also used the colours green, brown, yellow, grey and red.

I used red and black for this and used the same font but I can not remember the name of the texture that was used.

I use purple and a mix of orange and yellow and the texture that I used was wood.

I used blue and purple and the texture was smoke

the texture was marble.

I used the same texture but changed the intensity.
