The audience theory has affected the public because in adverts it persuade the audience in to buying the product they are advertising. For example the Ariel adverts aways compare to a another brand so they can show that there detergent is better than a other one. Passive adverts tells the audience that they need to know without it being in there face. An example my experience of the audience theory with violent games would be GTA although outside the missions the violence is completely optional however as GTA uses the same NPCs all over the city so some people may start to think that it might be ok to kill people, this is more likely because some parents may just buy a game for there kids to play without looking at the PEGI age rating so the child will be influenced by by this game. I am not as influenced by the actions on GTA because with age I have been able to see what is ok whithn society.
